A woman from North Las Vegas took her bulldog Minni to PetSmart for a bath and nail trim. Her beloved dog was dead 13 minutes later.
Two-year-old Minni needed a grooming session, so her owner took her to the PetSmart on North 5th Street and the 215 Beltway. She didn’t expect the meeting to take long, but she didn’t expect it to end so soon.
She decided to take a walk around the store while her dog was in there, but she noticed that everyone around her was running all of a sudden.
She figured out that something bad must’ve happened. She described what happened next:
“I ran in there. When I went in, she was crushed under a grooming table. They said that they had listened for her heartbeat and she was gone
They refused to give her a straight answer for what had happened.
“I don’t believe it was the weight of the table. It was the fact that it was electric and it had crushed her to the point that the table was closed all the way on her. And then with it being unplugged, there was no way to raise it
Other customers tried to help her dog, but she noticed that the table was unplugged, so it wouldn’t raise.
At 6.43 p.m, she was informed that Minni was dead.
Seifert said that she still has a lot of unanswered questions:
“What were these two groomers doing? Why did no one notice where the dog was? Why was she under a table? How does a dog go in for a bath and get crushed in 13 minutes?”
She is waiting on the autopsy report and she is demanding that the surveillance video of the incident be released so she can know what really happened. She hasn’t decided whether to file a lawsuit yet.
“People’s pets are their family members. She wasn’t just a pet.”Vikki, Minni’s owner.
